Welcome to this introductory yoga course, designed specifically for seniors looking to improve their fitness through a personalized approach. Whether you’re new to yoga or have scaled back due to joint issues, this course of 10 sessions offers a gentle, accessible approach tailored to your needs. Each session will guide you through simple movements and breathing exercises to enhance mobility, reduce stiffness, and boost overall well-being, while providing guidance on joint protection. With a focus on safety and support, you’ll build confidence in your body’s ability to move and improve, regardless of experience or fitness level. Let’s embark on this journey to better health, one step at a time!
Tuesdays and Fridays 9:00 - 10:15 am
Mondays and Thursdays 12:30 - 1:45 pm
Initial Assessment: Before starting with the group sessions, every participant will need to meet with me privately to determine what your specific needs and challenges are in order to effectively customize your plan. We'll measure your strength, flexibility, and balance to get baseline levels.
8 Small Group Sessions: Each class will focus on joint stabilization, addressing all major muscle groups. Each session will build upon the last, progressing the activities as appropriate, with instruction on modifications as needed.
Final Assessment: Once all the classes are complete, you'll meet again with me privately to discover the progress you've made. We'll retest those areas that we tested on the first assessment to gauge your improvement. If there's anything left to do, I'll provide you with the necessary information on next steps.

I've been a physical therapist for over 30 years, and I've spent all of those years working with seniors at various stages of fitness. I've become very familiar with the struggles and challenges that you face, and I've been motivated by your commitment to staying active and independent.
My mission is to help seniors on their wellness journey when you hit the road bumps that make you question whether you should stop or slow down. I'm here to provide support so you can keep going, whether it's a modifying how you move, or finding a completely different way of doing something.
