Welcome to the Tai Chi for Health Series!
This series of courses is thoughtfully designed to help you improve posture, strength, flexibility, and balance—one gentle movement at a time. Each course introduces a different sequence of tai chi forms, all grounded in principles that support joint health, body awareness, and mental calm.
Whether you're managing arthritis, working on fall prevention, or simply looking for a low-impact way to stay active and centered, there's a sequence here for you. Movements are slow, smooth, and easy on the joints—ideal for beginners and adaptable for all levels.
In each class, you'll learn a short, easy-to-follow form that builds week by week. You’ll also gain tools to enhance your balance, stability, and confidence—both in class and in everyday life.
No matter which course you begin with, you're taking a meaningful step toward greater well-being and mindful movement.
Did you get frustrated with the inconsistent progress of the class with people coming and going?
This class is the solution!
Improved posture – Develops body awareness and alignment, reducing strain on joints
Increased strength – Builds muscle endurance, especially in the legs and core
Enhanced balance – Helps improve stability and reduces fall risk, especially important for older adults
Greater flexibility – Gentle, repetitive movements gradually increase range of motion
Joint-friendly exercise – Sun-style tai chi’s flowing motions are easy on the joints, making it ideal for arthritis management
Stress reduction – Tai chi’s meditative aspect fosters relaxation and lowers stress levels
Improved blood circulation – Slow, rhythmic movements encourage healthy blood flow and can help reduce stiffness
Enhanced mental focus – Practicing mindful movements improves concentration and mental clarity while challenging the mind through complex movement patterns
Increased energy – Regular practice promotes a sense of vitality and well-being
Pain management support – Gentle movement helps alleviate chronic pain over time, benefiting those with musculoskeletal conditions
I've been a physical therapist for over 30 years, and I've spent all of those years working with seniors at various stages of fitness. I've become very familiar with the struggles and challenges that you face, and I've been motivated by your commitment to staying active and independent.
My mission is to help seniors on their wellness journey when you hit the road bumps that make you question whether you should stop or slow down. I'm here to provide support so you can keep going, whether it's a modifying how you move, or finding a completely different way of doing something.
